Additional Information:

The American Dietetic Association is joining food and nutrition organizations to celebrate Food Day, October 24, 2011. "Reducing diet-related disease by promoting safe, healthy food " and "Expanding access to food to alleviate hunger" are primary goals of Food Day the ADA and DCMADA share.

Who is invited? DCMADA members will get free exhibitor space. The space is limited, so must be reserved to secure. Each exhibitor will hand out nutrition education materials and do active food or nutrition related demonstrations throughout the four hour period.

What can I expect? The diverse vendors and farmers who normally appear at the C.H.O. P. Farm Market will be present. There will also be entertainment, food and nutrition activities for adults and children. For example, Celebrity chefs, WIC, and Slow Food will provide food demonstrations. DCMADA expects schools and head start centers to send children to the event, as well as workers in the Federal Triangle area, and tourists. Be prepared to educate and interact with a diverse crowd with varying education and economic levels.
